Make Your Own Chai Tea... With Essential Oils

Turkish Tea in a Traditional Tulip Cup... by Haniap... FreeImages
My husband bought a box of Chai Green Tea Bags... very nice.  But we ran out.

So tonight I decided to do a little exploration with some of the essential oils I have that are 100% pure and ingestible (were not processed using chemical solvents).  Young Living brand.  I am not promoting them particularly, but they do make the claim that you can eat them.  That is what is important.  Don't put anything into your mouth or your tea, or quite possibly, not on your skin, that reads on the bottle "For external use only".

In any case, tonight I got a Green Tea Bag and put a drop of each of the following on it:

  • Clove
  • Coriander
  • Ginger
Then I added some nut mylk and added it to the cup, boiled me up some water, poured the water over the teabag and milk, and then added a packet of Sweet Leaf Stevia.    It was quite pleasant.  However, I think I would just use one of the spices next time... maybe Coriander.  And just a drop.

I'm going to add some more recipes to this page... do you have an essential oil you like to add to your tea?  Please tell about it below!  Thank you!  Enjoy!
